22100VIC – Course in basic oxygen administration

Course description:

This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills in advanced techniques for management of the administration of oxygen and ventilation of the lungs in line with the requirements of the Australian Resuscitation Council and State and Territory regulatory bodies.

This course is suitable and highly recommended for all individuals, companies and organisations.

Course duration:

4 hours face-to-face training

Course Content:

  • Assess casualty and develop management plan
  • Checking oxygen equipment
  • Maintain unobstructed airway and resuscitate casualty
  • Use of bag, mask device and oxygen equipment to provide therapy
  • Recover and restore equipment

Prerequisites

Minimum age for participants is 14 years.

A current certificate in; HLTFA311A Apply First Aid or
HLTCPR211A Perform CPR or
HLTFA201B Provide Basic Emergency Life Support.

You will be required to bring the certificate of your training as evidence to enroll into this course.

You have the option of completing the pre-requisite unit at the same time as this course and additional cost and time would need to be allocated.

Certificate validity

Certificate valid for 12 months as per industry standard. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends a refresher course every 12 months.

Assessment

Emergency Training Australia conducts progressive assessment throughout the course; this includes practical demonstrations as well as a multiple-choice assessment. The assessment process covers all the theory subjects of the course and the practical assessment covers CPR and use of oxygen delivers systems. Due to the practical components of the course participants are advised to wear comfortable casual clothing.

Accreditation

This qualification is nationally recognised and workplace approved throughout Australia.

Statement of Attainment:
22100VIC – Course in Basic Oxygen Administration

Participants who successfully complete this qualification may be eligible for entry into further study such as: Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic search and Rescue) PUA31304.
